Dengue fever is nothing to take lightly in Malaysia. The good news is that the 990 cases from last week is fewer than the 1200 the week before. The bad news is that three people died last week; two were from Kuala Lumpur and one was from Johor. Work is ongoing to rid clear the area of the mosquitoes' breeding grounds. Syamsuddin Shafie, 54, who is a timber factory supervisor, was attacked by the man once married to his cousin. Syamsuddin was injured in the shoulder, lost three fingers of his right hand, and his left hand when he was attacked by the ex-relative wielding a sword.
