Bird migration changes

The birdwatchers at Cameron Highlands has noticed pattern changes in the birds there. Lowlands birds are moving to the higlands and indigenous birds are going elsewhere. This all could be to find cooler climates.

3 die of Dengue fever

Dengue fever is nothing to take lightly in Malaysia. The good news is that the 990 cases from last week is fewer than the 1200 the week before. The bad news is that three people died last week; two were from Kuala Lumpur and one was from Johor. Work is ongoing to rid clear the area of the mosquitoes' breeding grounds.

Dengue fever is nothing to take lightly in Malaysia. The good news is that the 990 cases from last week is fewer than the 1200 the week before. Man attacked by sword swinger

Syamsuddin Shafie, 54, who is a timber factory supervisor, was attacked by the man once married to his cousin. Syamsuddin was injured in the shoulder, lost three fingers of his right hand, and his left hand when he was attacked by the ex-relative wielding a sword. The ex-relative also stole the RM5,000 that Syamsuddin had had in his pocket.

Gambling an issue in Sabah

The Malaysian state of Sabah is concerned about easy access to slot machines and gambling there. Too many people are going to loan sharks to get money to gamble with. There are now 445 slot machines at recreational clubs around the state.
