Race relations good but can always improve

Malaysia has demonstrated that all races can get along there and it has helped the country to prosper since gaining its independence. The solidarity will allow the government to develop and implement more projects for the people. Malaysians are always eager to help each other in times of need regardless of race.

Parliament member not related to Malaysia's wealthiest

Many believe that only wealthy politicians can afford to be outspoken. Even still Johor Baharu Member of Parliament Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad has denied that his wife is a member of Malaysia's richest man Tan Sri Robert Kuok's family. Shahrir knows Kuok and has for many years.

Malaysia hopes to help resolve Thailand crisis

Malaysia has been waiting for Thailand to respond to Malaysia's offer to mediate a conflict in southern Thailand. Malaysia helped the Philippines resolve conflict and Thailand is hoping to use that same model. More than 2000 people have died since 2004 in the insurgency in southern Thailand.

Malaysia will get more Saudi students

This year the total number of Saudis that are studying in Malaysia should double to between 500 and 600. Saudi Arabia is very interested in having its students study in Malaysia and expects the number to grow to 1000 in 2008. Some of the courses the Saudis are eager to study in Malaysia are information technology, engineering, medicine, and pharmacy.

Live TV show canceled because of comments

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission took live television show ‘Sensasi’ off the air after controversial comments were made during the show. One of the performers on the show made comments derogatory to Prophet Muhammad’s wife. The comments started a huge controversy and viewers sent in letters.
